Job Assistance

At this time, only emergency food and social services are being provided onsite. Art, computer and literacy classes have transitioned to virtual classes. Please check back for updated information, which will post as it becomes available.

Our neighbors seek to build and improve employment skills.  People’s Resource Center’s Job Assistance Program helps unemployed or underemployed people in our community find jobs through mentoring and workshops focused on interview preparation.

PRC connects our job seeking clients with their own volunteer job coach to build skills, help with resume and interview preparation, and plan for job searches.

Our partnerships with area libraries have allowed the Jobs program to expand our reach into the community.  We now offer monthly workshops at the libraries that are open to everyone.  The popular topics include: Are you LinkedIn, Am I Ready for My Job Search?, Master the Phone and Virtual Interview, Negotiate the Job Offer, and 1:1 Mock Interviews.

We also partner with area employers to connect pre-screened, qualified candidates with employers seeking to hire.

Who can use the Job Assistance Program?

You need to live in, or be moving to, DuPage County. You’ll also need to be registered as a PRC Client.

Become a Client

To Become a PRC client, please click here.

How to Get Started

To get started, call PRC at 630-682-5402 ext. 333.  Please leave a message with your name and phone number.  Someone will return your call and help you register for an orientation session.  Clients must be registered PRC clients who live in — or are in the process of — moving to DuPage County.

If you’d rather contact the program online, click here.

What To Expect?

Clients attend two short orientation sessions to learn about the program and are then matched with their own job coach.  This one-on-one ratio allows each coach to spend as much time as necessary with a client.  Each PRC job coach has many years of experience in the job market, which is complemented by PRC’s specialized training.
