People’s Resource Center offers free technology classes, workshops, and one-to-one support for DuPage County residents ages 18 and older. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to build new skills, our volunteers are here to help you build confidence using computers and digital tools.

Classes & Workshops

Our volunteer led classes and workshops help participants develop practical technology skills for work and everyday life. Topics vary throughout the year and may include:

  • Computer Basics 
  • Windows 
  • Microsoft Word 
  • Microsoft Excel 
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 
  • Chromebook Basics 
  • Internet & Email 
  • Online Safety 
  • Job Search Technology 
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technology topics 

Classes are offered at People’s Resource Center locations, partner libraries throughout DuPage County, and occasionally in virtual formats. 

One-to-One Technology Support 

Need help with a specific technology question or project? 

Schedule a one-to-one support session with one of our trained volunteers. Support sessions are tailored to your goals and experience level and can help with tasks such as: 

  • Learning to use your computer 
  • Creating or editing documents 
  • Using Microsoft Office 
  • Setting up or managing email 
  • Navigating websites 
  • Building confidence with everyday technology 

One-to-one support sessions are available by appointment at our Wheaton and Westmont People’s Resource Center locations.

Who can participate? 

Technology Training is available to DuPage County residents ages 18 and older who are registered PRC clients. 

How much does it cost? 

All Technology Training classes, workshops, and one-to-one support sessions are free. 

Do I need previous computer experience? 

No. We welcome participants of all experience levels, from beginners to those looking to expand their skills. 

Where are services offered? 

Classes are offered at People’s Resource Center, partner libraries throughout DuPage County, and select virtual locations. One-to-one support sessions are available by appointment at our Wheaton and Westmont locations.
