Adult Learning & Literacy

Diverse and informed communities are strong communities. PRC neighbors speak over 50 different languages, and possess a wide range of skills and confidence in reading and writing.   The purpose of the Adult Learning and Literacy Department is to engage and empower adult learners to achieve their family, educational, community, and career goals.

PRC supports these goals  by providing adult learners access to lifelong, diverse, and equitable learning opportunities, consistent with their individual learning objectives.

We do this in a supportive environment through literacy and digital learning resources that include basic literacy, English Language Learner and High School Equivalency preparation.  Tutors assist with US citizenship preparation and help students attain basic computer skills and a level of digital literacy.  In addition, PRC provides volunteer tutor/instructor training as well as community partnership opportunities.

Who can sign up for Adult Learning & Literacy classes?

Classes are open to adults who are clients of the People’s Resource Center.
