Meeting our Community's Needs - Neighbor to Neighbor

People's Resource Center Celebrates National Volunteer Appreciation Week April 16 - 21

Volunteers have been “making it happen” at People’s Resource Center (PRC) since they began distributing food out of a small house in Wheaton in 1975. Today, over 2,500 volunteers donate their time and talent exemplifying PRC’s “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” approach.

PRC will be honoring its volunteers during National Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 16 – 21) with many activities that demonstrate our sincere gratitude for their commitment and dedication to PRC.  Our buildings will be decorated with banners and balloons; treats will be provided; and messages of thanks will be displayed.

PRC will be hosting its Annual Volunteer Celebration on Tuesday, April 24 from 4:30 pm – 6:30pm at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville.  PRC employees will personally show their gratitude by serving food, distributing raffle prizes and singing a song!

Volunteers donate over 90,000 hours of their time throughout the organization, at Wheaton, Westmont and over 30 Partner Sites, assisting in every program from Food Pantry to Literacy.  Their generosity enables PRC to assist almost 30,000 DuPage residents each year.
