HOW WE DO IT
Choice is so important to families who are struggling, and it’s one of our key values in the Clothes Connection! Each family receives 5 ‘points’ per month per person in their family, so a family of five would get 25 points each month. They are welcome to come anytime the Clothes Connection is open, spending down their points through the month. Clothing items are typically 1 point, jackets and nice dresses are 2+ points.
Our Clothes Connection is staffed by volunteers who help sort and stock clothing as well as help families select clothes. We receive clothing and monetary donations from residents throughout DuPage County and from partnering stores.
IMPACT
In 2010 - 2011 the Clothes Connection was visited by almost 1,800 families, who chose clean, seasonal clothing in excellent condition at no charge.

VICTORS OF CIRCUMSTANCE
Here’s an example of someone who uses the complimentary services of PRC’s Clothes Connection to make her family’s life better. Meet Sheila, a single mother of three children. She works two jobs to provide for her family, but there is never enough money for extras. “It is such a great feeling to be able to provide my children with clean, quality clothing, without having to destroy our family budget,” said Sheila. Thanks to the great clothes donations we receive, and the dedicated volunteers who stock the clothing so beautifully, Sheila says, “It feels like you are shopping in a boutique!”
