The People's Resource Center can only provide its services through the help of many volunteers. Sharing your skills and talents for as much time as you can will be greatly appreciated.

To Volunteer

  1. Please read our Volunteer Guidelines.
  2. Find opportunities you prefer from those listed below or on the Volunteer Application Form which contains specific opportunities and times.
  3. Fill out and submit our Volunteer Application Form which each volunteer must fill out prior to providing service.
  4. Also prior to providing service, please read, print, sign our Waiver, and bring in on your first volunteer opportunity.

Adult and Family Literacy Volunteers either assist in an on-going English class or tutor adults one-on-one in English or basic academics. No foreign language skill required. Free orientation and materials provided. Regular inservice workshops available. Classes are morning or evening at Megan Bradshaw Learning Center, 201 Naperville Rd., Wheaton, IL.
Tutorials are at various locations and times arranged to suit tutor and student.
