MAR 3000 Celebration
On January 4th, 2006, PRC staff and volunteers celebrated the completion of our 3000th computer since becoming a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR).
A short video detailed the history of the MAR program at the PRC. The program began in December, 2002. In just over 3 years, we have refurbished 3000 computers for our clients and other non-profit agencies. The video also demonstrated that the intervals are shrinking. The first 1000 computers took just under 18 months to complete. The next 1000 took 10 months. The most recent 1000 were built in 9 months.

Computer 3000 is a cut above our standard offering. It is faster, contains more memory and a larger disk drive. It also has a CD burner and a Zip drive.
We proceeded to officially license the machine. John Victor and Frank Goetz applied the MAR and equipment labels.

But who would become the lucky owner of this machine? We decided to place it in the CTC among the other completed computers (without any conspicuous label) and let the "chips" fall where they may.
On Thursday morning, January 12th, client Dennis Cunningham selected MAR 3000, touching off another brief celebration.
